Mount Spokane State Park is a 13,919-acre camping park in the Selkirk Mountains. The view at the top of the 5,883-foot elevation includes surrounding states and Canada. The forested park features stands of old-growth timber and granite rock outcroppings. In winter, the park is a cross country skier's paradise. Click here for the park's web page.

Winter Hours

8 a.m. to 10 p.m. (after cross-country ski trails are groomed). During the period of November 1 through May 1, a Sno-Park permit is required. Parking in snowmobile lots or cross-country ski areas requires a groomed trail permit. Permits can be purchased from Fitness Fanatics, REI, Mountain Gear, and from Rangers in the park.

Changes at Mt. Spokane National Park

Road construction this summer completed the upgrade to access the Selkirk Lodge; no more bumpy corduroy road on your way up and down the mountain. Note that the speed limit is still 20 mph. The Ranger's office is now the house just inside the entrance to the park on the north side.
