Youth Rangers, a new program for kids 10-15 years old, is a next step for those who are looking to use their Nordic skiing skills as a base for wider experience in winter survival, ski patrol, ski instruction, and other aspects of Nordic Skiing.
Participants will meet for three-hour Saturday afternoon sessions for 8 weeks. While they will spend a portion of their time enriching their skiing skills, the majority of the program is focused on rescue and aid techniques and back-country survival skills under the guidance of Ski Patrol members, Mt. Spokane Rangers, and other experienced outdoor adventure enthusiasts. They will also learn basics of ski instruction, which may include assisting with Nordic Kids lessons.
