Race Description and Information


This Nordic race event is open to participants of all ability levels and age groups. It is a community race that also offers Junior National Qualifier.


Saturday, 2-18-12 is a Classic Ski race. If you are in the Selkirk Series it is the final competitive race in that series. Otherwise this event offers a two day Pursuit Competition. Sunday, 2-19-12 will be a Freestyle race. The distance each skier will race is dependent on his/her age group.


Race Formats:

Saturday, February 18: Classic Mass Start

Sunday, February 19: Freestyle Individual/Pursuit Interval Start


Parking at the Selkirk Lodge: Only requirement is the WA Snow Park Permit for this weekend event 


Awards/ Race Scoring:

  1. Each day (Saturday: a classic race and Sunday: a freestyle race) awards will be given to the top three skiers in each category.

  2. Special “Pursuit Award” will be presented to winners in each class for the best combined Saturday and Sunday times.

  3. The “Selkirk Series” has been included in this event and will conclude after Saturday’s classic race. Selkirk Series Awards for the series will be given after the completion of the Saturday race.

  4. The Lollipop Race has been added to Sunday’s venue. Children under 6 yrs old will have the chance to complete a race and collect a lollipop for participating.

Registration:

  1. Online registration is required for participants wishing to compete in the Junior National Qualifier. Online registration closes at midnight on February 12, 2012. Late registration is available for an additional $15 by 2-15-12 midnight.

  2. For non-JNQ categories (Master, and Senior) “Day of Registration” is available at the Selkirk Lodge for an additional $25 fee. Lollipop Racers do not register but parents must sign the Liability Waiver (download, sign and turn in at the registration table).

Awards:

Prizes will be awarded at the venue, after all races are completed on Saturday and Sunday.
